The center crystal is engraved with symbols from several major religions.
Behind the crystal is the penticle, with a human figure behind it; symbolizing earch, air, light, water, and spirit.
This cathedrals's high arches and facade are constructed entirely of found metal objects retrieved from Goodwill's dumpsters, the street, or the Sunday afternoon dredges of estate sales.
All of these steel pieces are carefully welded together using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), or otherwise known as 'tig' welding.
I find it both challenging and fascinating to transform discarded steel pieces into majestic cathedrals of light and hope that serve as beacons of hope to the world.
