The two figures are hand engraved onto plate glass using a rotating diamond ball tip that is about 1 mm in diameter.

These drawings are performed while looking at images of Harvey Milk and Oscar Wilde on their respective articles on Wikipedia.

The rainbow below the two figures is created by shining multi colored light emitting diodes onto burnished stainless steel.

The background is created by two layers of sandblasted glass, each layer lit through the edge with different color light emitting diodes.

All of the glass and steel in this sculpture are recycled. The only new items are the LEDs themselves.
