Each link of the bicycle chain used to support the shade for this lamp is welded to the adjacent links using gas tungsten arc welding (tig), which allows me very fine control that is not available using MIG (wire feed) or stick welding.

I have self taught myself tig welding because of its capabilities for steel sculptures such as this.
