The pants, on the other hand, were one of my most potent lessions in choosing the most appropriate fabrics for pants, especially pants used while cycling.
Low end residental upholstery fabrics do not wear well in clothing. The tapesty did not stay together well and it pull apart unevenly. The fabric also did not stand up well with repeated machine washing and getting soakd while riding my bicycle in the rain.
As a result of making this pair of pants and one or two others, I had made a decision to limit myself to higher end and commercial upholstery fabrics for my clothing.
Although more expensive, these fabrics wear far better and hold their patterns well even through many wash cycles and getting wet in the rain.
