The green pieces on either side both came from a single 1/8 th yard remnant that was given to me by Whole 9 Yards Fabric Store in Portland, Oregon. They were quite flattered (and suprised) when I showed them the shirt later.
After cutting the yoke, I had less than 1 inch by 3 inches of the burgandy silk jacquard remaining.
The back of the shirt alone took about six hours to construct due to the tiny pieces that I had to put together. It was similar to putting together a jigsaw puzzle, but with the added complication that I had to meet my own strict requirements for symmetry.
