Stainless Steel Sculpture For Throne
After much consideration of the limited role of women in the Leonardo Da Vinci painting, I chose to bring two women; the Virgin Mary and my own Mother; as hostesses of the Great Table.

To manifest my visualization of these two women as hostesses as such an important event, I needed to create a throne or shrine for each one.

These two shrines (both are identical) are constructed of scrap materials.

By coincidence, I had the local bike shop replace the chain the sprockets on my bicycle. I asked them to keep the old parts. Those you see here after cleaning, cutting, and tig-welding together.

I try to construct the thrones to convey two images. One is to elevate the two women as hostesses of the Great Table and our guests. The other is to create beacons to summon those out there who are lost that there is a place for them at this famous gathering.
